Sounding Joy is thrilled to announce a new collaboration with the University of Tampa chapter of Delta Zeta Sorority. Together, the two organizations share a commitment to hearing health, service, and helping children and families access the care they need. 

Delta Zeta is the only global women’s organization with a focus on hearing and speech. Since 1954, its members have championed hearing health, celebrated Deaf culture and American Sign Language, and provided life-changing support for individuals with hearing and speech needs. Through its global philanthropy partner, Starkey Hearing Foundation, Delta Zeta helps empower individuals with access to hearing healthcare, support, and resources. 

That commitment makes this collaboration a natural fit for Sounding Joy. 

“We are so excited to connect with the University of Tampa Delta Zeta chapter,” said Christy Vogel, Founder and Executive Director of Sounding Joy. “Delta Zeta’s focus on speech, hearing, and community empowerment mirrors everything we stand for at Sounding Joy. Together, we can amplify our mission and reach even more children and families who need us.” 

Delta Zeta has already made an impact with a generous $1,000 donation to Sounding Joy to help provide hearing aids and related services for children whose families cannot afford them. 

As the collaboration grows, Sounding Joy and Delta Zeta plan to work together by: 

  • Welcoming Christy Vogel as a guest speaker at Delta Zeta’s October chapter meeting, where she’ll share her personal hearing loss journey and introduce members to Sounding Joy’s mission. 
  • Supporting one another’s fundraising events, including Delta Zeta’s Green Gala, Sounding Joy’s Fifth Annual HEAROs Golf Tournament this November, and the Art of Hearing Gala next April. 
  • Giving back through volunteer opportunities, including handwritten thank-you notes and thank-you calls to Sounding Joy donors. 
  • Raising awareness for pediatric hearing loss and Sounding Joy’s mission through shared social media and community outreach efforts. 

For Sounding Joy, collaborations like this are about building a community of advocates who believe every child deserves the opportunity to hear, learn, and thrive. 

By combining Delta Zeta’s decades-long commitment to hearing and speech with Sounding Joy’s work providing hearing aids to local children, this collaboration will help raise awareness, strengthen community involvement, and support more families across the greater Tampa Bay area. 

We’re excited to begin working together and look forward to helping more children experience the joy of hearing.
