Sounding Joy is honored to announce that it has been selected to receive a $28,000 grant from Community Foundation Tampa Bay. This grant will directly support Sounding Joy’s mission of providing hearing aids, accessories, and services to children whose families cannot afford them, opening doors to confidence, connection, and lifelong success.

Community Foundation Tampa Bay is the leading grantmaker in the Tampa Bay region, dedicated to improving the community through transformative philanthropy. By partnering with fundholders to strategically invest charitable assets into nonprofits addressing critical community needs, the organization sparks positive, lasting change across the region.

“We are incredibly grateful to Community Foundation Tampa Bay for this generous investment in the children we serve,” said Christy Vogel, Founder and Executive Director of Sounding Joy. “This grant will enable us to provide hearing aids to significantly more children in Tampa Bay whose families cannot afford essential hearing care. Every child deserves the opportunity to hear clearly, and this funding brings us closer to making that a reality for more families across the region.”

The $28,000 grant will help Sounding Joy purchase up to 14 hearing aids and services for 7 children in the Tampa Bay area, removing financial barriers that prevent families from accessing essential care. Research shows that early access to hearing aids improves academic outcomes, strengthens social connections, and supports long-term cognitive and emotional development in children.

Founded in 2021, Sounding Joy partners with audiologists and providers across the Tampa Bay region to identify children with the greatest need and has recently expanded its reach into Sarasota County.

Community Foundation Tampa Bay envisions a thriving Tampa Bay community where every person has equitable access to opportunity and prosperity. Their investment in Sounding Joy reflects a shared commitment to ensuring that children in the region have access to the care they need to reach their full potential, regardless of their family’s financial circumstances.
