Meet Shelly Ash, Audiologist/Provider Liaison

Shelly spent over 35 years as a clinical audiologist specializing in pediatrics and cochlear implants. She launched the cochlear implant program at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital in St. Petersburg more than 25 years ago, leaving a lasting impact on children’s hearing health in Tampa Bay.
After retiring from Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital in 2025, Shelly planned to spend her time cooking, making art, and traveling. However, when fellow audiologist and Sounding Joy Board Member Vangie Neeley mentioned how quickly the organization was growing, the opportunity to continue helping children with hearing loss was too appealing to pass up.
Shelly joined Sounding Joy as a Provider Liaison, bringing fresh ideas, a strategic mindset, and deep expertise in provider relationships. She’s excited to be part of expanding Sounding Joy’s mission and ensuring more children have access to the hearing care they need to thrive.
