Sounding Joy hosted its 2nd annual charity golf tournament on Saturday, October 14, at Tampa’s Westchase Golf Club. The shotgun scramble tournament featured a hole-in-one grand prize worth at least $35,000, as well as various prizes for the winning teams, closest-to-the-pin, and longest drive.
Tournament attendees heard from one of Sounding Joy’s clients, nine-year-old Valaria, and her mom, who shared their story and how Sounding Joy helped them.
About 80 golfers showed up to play, 20 people and businesses made in-kind donations, 24 sponsors were present, and 9 private donors were present. In the last 10 minutes of the event alone, $16,000 was raised. Participants donated an additional $8,000, which the tournament’s title sponsor, Pinnacle Home Care, matched.
Tournament costs will need to be covered, but funds raised should be able to provide more than 180 hearing aids to local children in need with the organization’s partner discount.
“We were so grateful to have raised almost $65,000 at last year’s inaugural tournament, we didn’t think we could beat it this year. But we did! A big thanks to our golfers, sponsors, and donors for their support in raising almost $90,000 this year. We couldn’t do it without them.”
Tournament sponsors included Pinnacle Home Care, Nitesh and Erin Sapra, Mills Mehr & Associates, Sherloq Solutions, I Fix Hearts, Rivero, Gordimer & Company, P.A., Jean Valenti, InVision Advisors, Five Ocean Advisors, Thompson Marketing Partners, S&B Metal Products, Eckert Business Solutions, Appliance Repair Specialists, EOS Worldwide, Florida CFO Group, Kampsen Hearing, Sharon Doherty Danco, PLLC, Tampa Children’s ENT, Tampa Smiles, Law Offices of Paul Duval Johnson, GenCo Legal, Jack Weaver, Millie Weaver, and Splash and Dash Groomerie & Boutique.
