At the recent in-person quarterly Sounding Joy Board of Directors meeting, we had the honor of recognizing someone whose impact can quite literally be heard: Dr. Cecilia Camacho, Au.D., CCC-A.
To date, Sounding Joy has helped 67 children receive the hearing support they need—fitting 60 kids with hearing aids (that’s 120 ears!) and investing nearly $75,000 in hearing aids and audiology services. One person has been at the heart of much of that impact: Dr. Camacho, who has personally fit more than 50 of those children with hearing aids.
To thank her for her extraordinary contributions, we presented her with a crystal heart featuring the photos of two Sounding Joy kiddos—just a small token of our appreciation for her role in helping children experience the joy of sound.
Dr. Camacho embodies Sounding Joy’s mission, and we’re beyond grateful to have her on our board.
